The California Growers Association is quickly becoming the state’s most prominent grower/cultivator oriented cannabis voice in the state. Over the last six years the organization has grown from a county to a regional group and now a statewide trade association.
The California Growers Association was active in the legislative process throughout 2015. We negotiated amendments, testified in every legislative committee and we were supportive of all three bills that comprised the Medical Marijuana Regulation and Safety Act of 2015.
This organization played a significant role in shaping the legislation that resulted in a comprehensive statewide regulatory framework and multiple state license types for growers and cultivators.
In 2016 Cal Growers will remain actively engaged in the legislature and will continue to develop capacity to engage in regulatory affairs and local government outreach.
The mission of the California Growers Association is the promotion and protection of the independent farms and businesses in the cannabis industry and the protection of the public health and patient’s rights, the restoration of natural resources and watersheds, and to provide for the welfare of communities and the mutual benefit of public and private interests.
Formed in 2015 to protect and promote growers and independent businesses within California’s cannabis industry, CGA works actively on the frontline of monumental policy decisions being made.
As farmers, we are you. As small business owners, we want our voices heard. Our strength is our togetherness.
United and collaborative, CGA’s job is to ensure that legislators from the State Capitol to county seats and city halls across California protect independently owned farms and businesses as we move toward a well regulated industry. It is critical to provide adequate protections for existing small farms and businesses.
It’s critical today that California growers have an effective and unified team in Sacramento. Working in concert, we are an effective voice, backed by the strength of togetherness.
The world will be watching as California moves toward cannabis regulation. Building on decades of leadership in the cannabis industry, CGA members are working to ensure California becomes a global leader at the crossroads of compliance and independence.
