Cannabis Policy Summits set for Santa Cruz, Nevada City

Medical cannabis regulations are coming. Now is the time to get smart.

Two upcoming Cannabis Policy Summits will help growers in Santa Cruz and the Sierra Foothills prepare for the new state laws.

The first event is Friday, December 4, at Santa Cruz Veterans Hall Memorial, 846 Front Street, Santa Cruz, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Nevada City event is Wednesday, December 9, at the Nevada Theater, 401 Broad Street, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Both are free to the public.

Each policy summit will feature speakers from state agencies that will oversee cannabis licensing and regulation, including the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Board of Equalization.

Hezekiah Allen, Executive Director of the California Growers Association, will moderate and serve as keynote speaker.

The events are sponsored by Cal Growers, Harvest Law Corporation, Gardening Unlimited, Santa Cruz Hydroponics and Organics, Gro-Tech Systems, Forever Flowering Greenhouses and the Nevada County Coalition to Tax and Regulate Medical Cannabis.
